Tamara Sheward and Jenny Valentish

Jenny Valentish grew up in Slough, hastily moved to London, and now lives in Melbourne. Following stints as a music publicist and in book publishing, she focused on journalism, dropping anchor at Guitar & Bass, Club Confidential and Ralph, and is currently editor of triple j radio's national consumer magazine, jmag.

Tamara Sheward is a too-tall oddball with a penchant for travel, tattoos and trouble. Half-Russian, half-English with roots in New Jersey and Australia's East Coast, she's been travelling weird-style since she was in utero. She once eked out a living selling toy spiders on the streets of Belfast for a Dickensian slumlord. She is the author of Bad Karma: Confessions of a Reckless Traveller in South East Asia, the author / illustrator of half-a-dozen kids' books, journalist / sub-editor at the Triple J magazine, jmag, and features in an upcoming Lonely Planet/National Geographic TV program.

Their mothers are, strangely, proud.
